Our reporter learned from the Guangzhou Local Taxation authorities that the Social Security fund in the Panyu District had surmounted RMB 10 billion.

The Panyu local taxation authorities said that, in order to enhance the management of social security premiums, it has engaged mainly in addressing the following four aspects of the program.

Firstly, it paid high levels of attention to all details of the program and optimized relevant procedures, including increasing the coverage of bank .transfers, improving its internal management style, enhancing its internal cooperation with other departments and ensuring the smooth implementation of the social security premium collection measures. Secondly, it continued to perfect its management rules on the collection and management of social security premiums. It set up a new array of regulatory rules and operational regulations with regard to newly identified situations and issues. Thirdly, it intensified its settlement work on determination of the social security premiums due. It actively brought into play all the functions of premium collectors, clarifying completely the mechanisms of “the  jurisdiction of social security premiums and income taxes”. It perfected the post office callable collection scheme and strengthened the intensity of settling arrearages, and fourthly, it set up procedures to handle the publicity of collection of social security premiums through distributing flyers, putting up posters and holding a Publicity Month on Tax Laws and so on.
